Citizens of the 12 remaining ECOWAS member states enter visa-free under the 1979 free movement protocol. Non-ECOWAS nationalities, including other Africans, require a visa obtained online (eVisa) or from an Ivorian diplomatic mission before travel, resolving the priority check flagged in earlier research about online pre-enrolment for visa-on-arrival at Abidjan airport.
