What each African passport needs.

Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon
You can travel with your national ID card or a biometric passport (the newer kind with a chip, shown by a small camera-like symbol on the cover).
Visa on arrival

Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo
Embassy visa first

Good to know

Congo's president has said that from 1 January 2027, citizens of every African country will not need a visa. It hasn't been made official in law yet.
