How to read this

Arrivals — International visitors who entered the country that year — the standard headline visitor count.

Receipts — Money those visitors spent in the country — hotels, food, tours, shopping, all of it.

% of GDP — How much of the country's entire economy that tourism spending represents.

Spend / visitor — Average dollars spent per visitor (receipts divided by arrivals, same year only).

Growth — How arrivals changed between the two years each country actually reported, not a single-year guess.

Tap any country for the full breakdown, or search, sort and filter to find the one you need. Every figure is dated to the year the country actually reported it, so nothing here is dressed up as more current than it is.

Recent (2019+) A few years old (2010-2018) Older (pre-2010)

Every number carries its own reporting year because years differ by country — tap any country above for the full breakdown, including its rank against the rest of the continent. Receipts are compared to that country's GDP in the same year, and spend per visitor only shows where both figures share a year.

This is a starting point for planning and pitching, not a substitute for a country's own tourism board or statistics office. For anything time-critical, confirm the latest figure directly with them before it goes in front of an investor or partner.
