An Aerial View travel guide
Do you need to apply before you fly?
A growing number of African countries now ask you to apply for entry permission online before you travel, even without a visa. Miss it and you can be turned away at boarding.
We track what each scheme actually asks for, so you can sort it out before you book, not after.

None found, traditional advance visa; narrow on-arrival exemption for Eritrea, Kenya, Malaysia
Sudan's civil war since April 2023 has disrupted normal immigration administration and Khartoum's main airport. Available reporting indicates only Eritrean, Kenyan and Malaysian nationals can get a visa on arrival, at Port Sudan International Airport specifically, subject to discretionary security screening. All other African nationalities must obtain a visa in advance from a Sudanese embassy or consulate; no e-Visa or ETA system was found. Treat this as a snapshot of a fluid, conflict-affected situation rather than settled policy.
It's required for advance embassy visa for African nationalities other than Eritrea, Kenya and Malaysia.
The fee is USD 50.
Even the narrow on-arrival category is subject to discretionary security assessment by immigration officials, not a guarantee.
Good to know
Short re-verify interval reflects the conflict-driven volatility rather than confidence in the finding; sourcing here is tertiary (Grokipedia) and should be treated as provisional pending a primary Sudanese government or embassy statement.

Still confirming: Confirm current status against a government or UN source given the ongoing conflict; Whether any functioning e-Visa or online step has since been introduced; Whether other African nationalities have separate arrangements not captured in tertiary sources
